[T] Ok ..

[T] If it was 'forced' in would you be able to get it out again?

[T] That's what I thought!

[T] Well not 'dead' .. I don't think I said it wouldn't ever boot, just went
strange after a warm boot?

[T] Well, I'm not sure about the disk clicking problem as I was focusing on
Mapsource at that time!

[T] The installation takes the files from the CD to the HDD (I was doing it over
the net and locally with the same effect).

[T] Well, all I had were 'errors' in Device Mangler, again I didn't say there
were any problems with things functioning as such?

[T] Not till after!

[T] That's what I have since seen on the Libby .. a completely clean a
functional machine, including a 3Com ethernet card. The only 'hiccup' was the
Tosh FDD and that's now sorted as well!

[T] Yep, I like that ..

[T] Not used that ..

[T] The only think I've noticed now is that 98 hangs at the real mode stage
during boot (cleared by a CR .. I've looked in Autoexec.bat and Config.sys but
see nothing untoward) and getting the power saving not to leave the machine
without some mouse clicks but with a moving pointer?

Ho hum ...

All the best Matt and thanks again ...
