I'm pretty sure Tim is using his 700-850MB 8.5mm HDD here Pres.  He sounds 
pretty committed to taking your advice, and doesn't want to take any chances 
of damaging the L50.

But Tim... are you saying that the 8.5mm HDD that came with the L50 all of a 
sudden stopped booting after trying to reconfigure your PCMCIA drivers?  
Wonder if someone may have put a bigger 9.5mm in before you got it... and 
then replaced the 8.5mm drive to sell it... setting up a potential problem 
down the line when you got it.
