Another thread earlier had some guy in South Asia have a battery company put in new cells - he said it worked fine for him after they charged him some silly little sum of money for it - search Mailing List archives. Also, in the past, believe a few had replaced their cells themselves - search archives for years ago. In any case, it's easy. Most laptop battery packs are not one big battery, but instead, many little standard cells about AA sized or just a touch larger hooked together to get the higher V/A output. If you can find equal sized cells with better ratings, then you can repack and get longer battery life. That should be easy because in the old days, we only saw things like 1400mAh Ni-Mh AAs and today, they've released 2000mAh Ni-Mh cells. Same applies for the Li-Ion cells in the Librettos. Of course, you do have to be careful as they can blow up, short, exploded on you if you're not careful. Plus, the voltages must match pretty well or else the charging and receiving circuits may go wacky. Beyond that, I suppose the only thing we'd like to see are exact part #s and contact info for the vendor(s) who he got the cells from in case anyone else wants to do the same.... d =) ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
