The (positive) problem was not that a large mass arrived, but the fact that if we had 20 or 30 more of them, in Adut area, we would have problems with the queue. I am for as many people as possible. To bring installers is not the problem (I started to reject some of them kindly, when we had too many installers, and had no place for them). The problem is the make a good advertisement around Haifa, so we will have more people coming. If we see that there's a good response for the ads, we shall make it in a larger place, such as the students' house place (like it had been 3 and 2 years ago). > > > organized with the ads, and they also included a greater radius than the > > "known community", so this brought more people to the Linux party, after > > I have a question that I wonder if you thought about: for non-Technion- > students, how easy is it to come into the Technion with their computers, > seeing that cars are not allowed in? That's a very specific problem which we didn't have last time, and now has to be solved. It's not that every person will say that "I am for the Linux event", and will simply be allowed to get in.. Or maybe yes, I don't know. In general, saying that "I have arrived to the Linux event" can be a security problem. That's an issue that has to be solved, so for next time, we will try to check what we can do about it. > > > we almost thought that it's going to end just like last time (if I > > remember well, there was no wave of installed-persons on evenings times, > > last time there was a party and a party before that. > > Maybe you should think on asking people to make "reservations", asking > them to decide in advance if they will come in the morning, evening, or > what? On the site - we have only had 12 people who actually "registered" themselves to the event. In reality, much more had arrived, ofcourse. But it can be a nice way to get people's details, so if they arrive with their car, we will know about it in advance, and we shall be more prepared that way. This can be a pre-condition for a person who will want to arrive with his car to the Technion. > > Getting people (like me) to help you during the evening will be easier than > people during the working day, by the way. I've created a tag especially for you.. it's you who didn't show up :) Ofcourse, any person who can and wants to help me, is mostly welcome. > > -- ____________________________________________________________________________ Adir Abraham Technion's Advisors Group and Public PC Farms Manager [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Haifa, Israel ICQ# 1841481 Cel# +972-55-481245 KeyID: 0xD8DC85C7 Fingerprint: 138D 8F41 7A06 44A0 3DBB 9DC3 FE8B 2658 ____________________________________________________________________________ -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: PGPfreeware 7.0.3 for non-commercial use <http://www.pgp.com> mQEPAzLax/sAAAEIAK2bI8utornDYd5LdU+/TABNmqXneiXuLx4j8OKD2GjfS/O8 E6nrX69ot4uU5ryjp5h+7VHBZqCQz+8VC8ly2ANtycejAc82gllVC96fbA+Y6uuN uI9aXkwNqhphmmQZIVaOZDRAo9//1zX9r41xY+8rKSQuNcp+FPD/A5Itng0xhsfS KkCV4tT0mGpiydUHFrugk/bouXPYwUHXSnHp/mPdGsjgqipezHPzCWIn3xcJjk2/ tjd5/ym+arWpKW5nvTuvalcMi2DIcEilSrT5NLwgeuh3eqitYOc9WTiMNMvUiVcP sucJkdxNwjEX9MgD/bLY9wT/13brqxk71tjchccAEQEAAbQnQWRpciBBYnJhaGFt IDxhZGlyQHZpcGUudGVjaG5pb24uYWMuaWw+iQEVAwUQMtrH+6sZO9bY3IXHAQGb 0gf9FwrJBKaTP0yvf3+vwtB+9ftS0woz1TawJwflC5EoHJs7D/5GzkAaRV82RSkH P9fSHmM+LUB0huBBK1qtNyXHWIjQTmYwFYC8Oen4q0Fyze7cloSnpD1rVjI0HoCO UU8bbz0Iseizdjhnl2PTItQ+dkKzLcww1jW5iPXOWd1o8/8s2aebhrpDRO8BfAYg H29jhmDtuVQDPgFfkN/kP+xpHQplMN5Qh1oP22f+Wyg8sVvSv8P7cM+88u46FHi3 zvHpVnZKIBtKhksnH1PYXtz7FvS7vA+MbpM47kgmQGL5Ygig0pUUbBCGlzmg2Hvd 262YCdVYNwpIjQWBLJI8orea0Q== =dgNP -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haifa Linux Club Mailing List (http://www.haifux.org) To unsub send an empty message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
