Thank you for the answer.

Is there any way around this? Like a "home made" character converter in Lingo?

Since I can't change the xml-file the unicode characters need to be converted in the Shockwave movie.

I appreciate the help.

sounds like you may be trying to read unicode characters. Director isn't unicode.

Hi,

I need to load an external xml-file that includes special characters using getNetText, but some characters get messed up when loaded into the Shockwave movie.

For example the character "" becomes "ä" and "" becomes "ö".

Is there a way to automatically convert these in Shockwave?

Thanks in advance!
