Unfortunately Director Text leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes, just applying a spot color to a word in a sentence will change the spacing/kerning of the sentence (no more simple duplicate sprite for a drop shadow), etc.

You may be able to fix it, but it wouldn't surprise me if you can't.
