First, let me say thanks for the point in the right direction with the FileIO Xtra. It turned out to be the right tool for the job.
While looking at the Xtras I got an idea for creating a small utility that uses the 3D obj converter in a stand-alone application. I have looked on the Macromedia site, but can find no information that pertains to actually communicating with the Xtra. From what I can tell, it seems to only be functional inside Director. I did some further investigating and found that along with the W3D Xtra, you can add an Xtra that deals with 3D Authoring. Does anyone know what this Xtra does? Second, is there and information about communicating with the values in Xtras in general? Some universal values or items that can be accessed thru Lingo? These are both a Lingo questions and deal heavily with using Xtras, something I have had little to no experiance with.
