Hi gang,
This might not be a purely Lingo question, and I hope nobody will be annoyed
with me for that (hey, lesser things have know to cause flame wars...), but
I'm really stumped by this one, don't really feel like joining director-l
list, and no one around here knows much about shockwave, so...
[Windows 98 and Director 7.02]
The thing is, that when I try to embed Xtras in a shockwave movie, (nothing
fancy - stuff like the animated gif or trying to read an ole jpeg) - either
I get an error, or it simply doesn't work.
in case of the animated gif the error message is something like: "the
application requires an Xtra ("animated gif") that either doesn't exist or
failed to innitialise..."
While in the director movie, I made sure that the "include in projector" box
is ticked.
In case of my ole jpeg, it just doesn't exist in the dcr...
Also, when I try "download if needed", director tries to connect to the
download xtras site and fails.
Here at work, I have a web-share connection that allows me to connect
without dialup, but I have been told that stuff like IRC, ICQ or instant
messenger is automatically disabled for security reasons. Could that have
anything to do with it?
So far, I couldn't find anything that would give me a hint as to why this is
happening, and while I've been lingoing and directoring for years now, I
know nothing really about shockwave.
Help?
