Well Kerry I'll be interested in what you hear in Colin's samples. Both on Mac
and PC.

I've run one last bunch of tests for the day and here are my results, D8 on
Windows 98

1)Sounds in the sound channels of an LDM will not play unless a sound is sitting
in the same member location but in the stage. So if you have a different sound
sitting in the same member number than that different sound will play

2)The sound object will reference sounds by name in the stage's casts only. It
ignores sound members in the LDM

3) Puppetsound will find and play sounds that exist only in the LDM and not in
the stage

For me puppet sound is the way to go unless you need some of the fancy elements
of the sound object, which I admit is a very cool tool. In that case you'll have
to make sure you have the sounds linked to the stage some how. This is really
too bad cause it just introduces a whole other level of media management. Maybe
D9 will sort out all these issues.

have a good weekend,

Rob
