I guess I'd use puppetSound or setPlayList then (one could argue that 
setPlayList is really just a more sophisticated puppetSound).

Another poster (Rob Wingate? I deleted the e-mail) reported problems with 
sounds in the sound channels, so that's probably it.

It could be a Mac/PC issue, too--the Mac generally handles sound better 
than Windows. I develop mainly on a Mac, but I spend about 30% of my time 
on Windows. However, I haven't found any problems on either platform yet 
(*yet*) with setPlayList and LDMs. So I would guess it's more likely the 
handling of the sound channel.

Usually no, unless it's an ambient sound or sound effect both use. That 
would be coincidence, though, not design.
