I use Sorenson Pro and QDesign Music with QuickTIme. I set the data
rate to 100 K/sec for the video and 10 K/sec for the audio at 320x 240,
15 fps. I do this in Cleaner 5. With the option turned on that enables
Sorenson's pixel doubling (can't remember the term in Cleaner's
interface for that at the moment), I can then size the QT sprite's video
frame in Director to whatever I need to fit in my interface -- usually
3/4 of NTSC on a 800 x 600 stage. It doesn't have to be exactly double
in size. There's no performance penalty that I can see if it's an odd
multiple of the actual frame size. These QT video clips play very
clean...and smooth...from a CD-ROM on any computer, PC or Mac, built in
the last five years. I have tested this thoroughly. I haven't seen
anything that can even come close to the quality from Microsoft or Real.
