Like I said, you can't do this with the movie you're trying to copy from open. It will be marked by the OS as "open with write permission by another user ... " Select cast members OR score cells. To select score cells either drag through the score with your cursor or click then shift- or control- click or drag to add to the selection; copy; create a new movie, or open the file you want to paste into. If you selected score cells, select an empty target cell in the score, if you copied cast members, select an empty cast-member slot; and paste. If you copied from the score, the cast is automatically filled with all cast members referenced by that area of the original score, including any attached behaviors. >From what you describe, the delete and "Save as" option might still be simpler ...
