Members copied to the clipboard are only references, so Director
needs the first movie closed to be allowed to get the cast members
out them.

One can use 1 copy of Director & use the hmovie history menu to keep
going back and forth between the old & new movie.

If you use 2 instances of Director, then doing New after the copy
frees up that movie (& therefore the copied members) for pasting into
the other instance.
Then you can click back into the first instance & reopen the same
movie from the movieHistory menu list. It's a little bit quicker.

Tab's method about using Save As (to make a copy of the source movie)
& then deleting unnecessary stuff from the copy is also a good one.

The most 'reusable members' solution is to push the desired members
into a 'floating cast' (unattached to the main movie). For selected
members, open the floater and drag the desired members out. For all
of them, just link it to any movie.
