thanks mark, it looks like for some reason audiofiles was left off the
initial install. i downloaded the rpm and installed and now everything's
fine. i was under the impression that the redhat installer would resolve
all dependencies.

That looks like one or more of the files got deleted. Do an "rpm -V
audiofile" to check. I just downloaded the RPM and I see these files:
/usr/lib/libaudiofile.so.0
/usr/lib/libaudiofile.so.0.0.1

Subject: rehat successfully inistalled
i have redhat 7.2 successfully installed on our mp3000. i have X
configured
and running to my pc. however, when i try to start gnome-session, i get:
gnome-session: error while loading shared libraries: libaudiofile.so.0:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
if i look in /usr/lib/ i see:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 181410 Sep 22 2001 libaudiofile.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Oct 26 13:52 libaudiofile.so ->
libaudiofile.so.0.0.1
should there be a libaudiofile.so.0 here? also libaudiofile.so seems to be
linked to a non-existent file?
