Why is it that there's the same problem everywhere ? Life would be much easier and problems could be solved faster and better with just some more DASD but it seems like the management guys must create the dasd themselves... >From time to time drop a little BOO !! to them for them to realize EVERYONE WINS (even they win !) with just a few more resources like dasd.

Your concerns are VERY valid about DRA recovery. Maybe another angle would be to advise management about NOT being able to recover, its impact on business continuity, SARBOX legal and regulatory issues, ?????? That might loosen the purse strings a little. Explore what the REAL costs and consequences being unable to recover would be. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Luis La Torre Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2008 11:28 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Copying 3390-9 to 3390-3 Linux LVM under z/VM. We don't have any mod 9 available in the z/VM pool, all were re-allocated to the z/OS Adabas databases. We are trying to get more dasd, but approval is very slow and painful and management does not want to spend any money at all. I just want to thank everyone for their response, You people provided me with good ideas for now and the future. My main concern is to have a backup copy of the volume groups for disaster recovery purposes as soon as possible. Last weekend we almost had to do a full z/VM and Linux recovery. Thanks, Luis F.
