Another method, if you're willing to prep-then-DDR (or flash copy), is
to use CMS 'RESERVE'. Easier to change a label with ...
format 1234 (label
than relabeling with ICKDSF. CP will be just as happy with such a label
and Linux will not need to touch it. (No need for 'dasdfmt' nor 'fdasd'.)
The reserved file then becomes the "partition" Linux sees, which makes
for a convenient backup access point.
