More or less along this line, I gave a try at routed the other day.
Before that, typing 'route' displayed the available IP routes at once.
After I typed 'routed' (just to give it a try) it makes a query to
the DNS server every time I check routes now, as well as making
periodic queries to the network neighboorhood. I didn't like neither
really needed to do it at home so I rebooted and did not use routed
again. Well, now it doesn't make any periodic queries, but route kept
the behavior of asking around before printing my routes.

What should I do to revert to the peevious, quiet, situation ?

SMTP from pine stopped working, and I NEED it back...

I am querying the DNS via radio, 1200 baud, so it is SLOOOW...
