Have you tried using the YAM in full duplex mode (at least pretend it is
even if it can't actually do full-duplex). Looks like the modem driver
thinks
the channel is busy....
Having had a long hard look at the driver to use a similar method of
interfacing to a G4XYW 9k6 modem, I'm at a total loss as to how it
works in detail - its very simple in principle but it ain't half complicated
for
a ham of little brain :-))
