In all my experiences with FT-736r's one had to modify the radio and tap off
the rcvr and xmiter boards for 9600. Got one right in front of me. The
digital
port still has some circuitry in it. This mod is available at many sites and
is
easy to do. I have use mine with a DSP-2232 and Data Engine.
I have added a couple of features as well. The first was an isolation
transformer
for the xmit/rcv audio pairs (near the tnc) and the second was a mini stereo
jack on the rear of
the FT-736r for the "tapped" pairs.
