My point was that their decision is *imho* fully justified, because of the reasons he brought forward, and what the KDE team thinks about it is not really of essence in this case. To give an analogy, you don't see Linus (or anyone else from the kernel team) complaining about the heavily modified kernel redhat ships, do you?
