What do this "startproc" & "endproc" do ? (I assume you missed out a
"/" in the first line and you meant /sbin/startproc ??) I don't find
these monsters in my distro ?? (RH 6.1 PCQ)
I'd assume that they're just wrappers which reenable all signals and
starts up / kills processes specified as the argument ?
In fact the mail that I'd quoted in my original message has a 10 line
C program that does exactly the same thing to solve the hangup problem..
The author had made a suggestion to ESR regarding including it in the
fetchmail code itself - Don't know if it was included..
