Yes. The I had set the jumper to Master. Now I have changed it to
CableSelect.
But still I get the same throughput :
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
debian:~# hdparm -tT /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 1.83 seconds = 69.95 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 13.44 seconds = 4.76 MB/sec
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have got now the following in my startup script /etc/init.d/rcS :
/sbin/hdparm -c1 -d1 -a1 /dev/hda
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
debian:~# hdparm /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
multcount = 0 (off)
I/O support = 1 (32-bit)
unmaskirq = 0 (off)
using_dma = 1 (on)
keepsettings = 0 (off)
nowerr = 0 (off)
readonly = 0 (off)
readahead = 1 (on)
geometry = 2096/255/63, sectors = 33683328, start = 0
debian:~#

Unfortunatly, inspite of trying a lot of things I still don't get the
throughput which I should have got ??
Thanks a lot for helping me out. Is anything left to be done ?
