If you had read that thread, you would have seen mention of something
termed as an airgap.

If that is not possible, use Mozilla on the desktop to replace IE.
Locked down file permissions on the Windows systems (See the NSA guides)
will help too.
Not working as administrator is useful as well.

Replacing Outlook on Windows? If this is for calendaring, there is no
replacement to an Outlook/Exchange combination.
