I am bowing to the experience you have with regards to this topic. Just to explain my point of view Some Background I use linux( Fedora Core 1) as my desktop OS. I use it to access the net, check email, code a bit, listen to music, watch movies. I don't use windows/IE/outlook the supposed virus prone software. But is it wise for me to assume that my OS is safe? But thats another discussion for another day. According to my limited understanding Linux India Help mailing list is where I would post any technical question about linux I need help with. So I assumed that a question about squid configuration should be answered with info on that or not answered at all. But obviously I have a lot to learn about reading between the lines. But if I have a question about FC1 some day, I might get an answer saying that you are running the wrong distribution. I may be told to shift to debian/gentoo/your_fav_distro_here. Will that really help me or just confuse me further. That is why my retort about are you really trying to help. I hope I have clarified my point. regards Akash ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
