It meas that yourpartition containing /boot ( which in your case is /)
extends beyond the 1024 cyl boundary of your disk. Your disk bios cannot
read that and thus cannot load the linux kernel to boot you.
Move your win partition to make room for the / partition below the 1024
cyl boundary. New versions of lilo with new motherboard bioses may make
this irrelevant soon.

Hello! Can anyone possibly e-mail me with the answers to these
problems I'm having in Corel Linux :
I have a Lexmark 2050 printer which I am trying to configure but it is
not listed among the Lexmark printers, can anyone tell me a compatible
make and model of printer which would work?
When trying to connect to the internet, just before logging in, I am
getting the error "the PPPD (i think that's right) daemon died
unexpectedly", can anyone tell me what's causing this and how I can
correct it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a ibm 200 pentium pro loaded with redhat 6.1 kernel level
2.2.5-15. I have been getting kicked out of telnet sessions from my
nt4.0 workstation to the linux box. It sometimes shows a message that
says "auto-logout" but most of the time when I try to type at the prompt
I get the host disconnected message from my telnet prog. I then try to
reconnect and for several minutes get the error message
"Error on Connect: 10061
WSAECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by Host"
Then I get back in and for a variable amount of time I can use the
connection.

Not necessarily. Java does not work the same across all platforms.
For example, you can change your logon password but not your trading
password on Etrade with either Linux or Solaris. You can change both
with Windows 95.
I called their support line, but the tech support droid just beeped
at me. Somewhere, deep in their QA department, somebody is hiding
this dirty little secret...

Because a pty is bound to one thing, in this case, the xterm. Use
screen. It inserts a virtualization on that concept so that it connects to
one pty and opens up others for the programs to use.

Huh?
SuSE 6.1, May 99: IDE CD-ROM and ZIP/LS-120 support built as modules;
stock kernel works automagically when you try to mount and read/write
either device via /dev/hd[a-d].
RedHat 6.1, Nov. 99: Same
Corel, Dec. 99: Same
Caldera 2.3, Oct. 99: Same
(Ok, in SuSE 6.1, you had to tell the system, "I have an ATAPI CD-ROM"
somewhere in the install process for it to install the right modules.)
Don't know for sure about Debian and Slack, but I'd certainly suspect that
they do that too in their recent versions. Praytell, which distros were
you referring to here? SuSE, RH, and Caldera are hardly minor players in
the Linux market these days.

Enter "xmodmap" in a terminal window and you should see something like
this:
xmodmap: up to 2 keys per modifier, (keycodes in parentheses):
shift Shift_L (0x32), Shift_R (0x3e)
lock Caps_Lock (0x42)
control Control_L (0x25), Multi_key (0x6d)
[snip]
Look for the "Multi_key" line. Here, it's on the right-hand side of the
"control" line, so that means my right Ctrl-key is mapped to the
"Multi-key" or "Compose" key.
So, to type an , I'd type Right-Ctrl,',i. Substitute different vowels
in the third position and the characters ~, ^, ', `, and " in the second
position. is Right-Ctrl,c, while is Right-ctrl,s,s... enter
"dumpkeys" in a terminal window to get a look at all the possibilities.
If you don't have a Multi_key, then try adding this line to ~/.Xmodmap :
keycode 0x6D=Multi_key
that *should* make your right-Ctrl key the Multi_key. HTH, YMMV, Bonne
Chance.

Your script (or whatever) did not supply the FTP server with a valid
username and password. My guess is that it didn't even try to send a
username or password.
The rest of this log is because the script couldn't log into the FTP
server.

"binutils" comprises the programs like as(1) and ld(1). On any sensible
Linux system these programs should show up in /usr/bin, and any sensible
environment should have a PATH that looks there.

When I first put them in I had to do some fiddling with tulip.o but then
that was a very old copy of rh that I was running, now both my linux

I should point out that I've never tested them at 100M though as my hub
