Did you read the documentation? I know, it is kinds bugged out in pdf format.
There is a switch, I believe it is /net but you might want to check to be safe.

Subject: Java applet is missing

Help me!!
When i visit web sites, there are often pictures or images which need the
Java applet to work. My computer recently performed a maintenance check,
and my Java applet has dissappeared. It is easier to explain:
When you type in a web address, along the bottom of the window is a bar
which says things like web site contacted, awaiting confirmation, and so
on. It also says 'Java applet initalised', this brings up the chat
rooms/banners/icons which use Java. When I open up a web site, it does
not say 'Java applet initialised', which means I cannot get these
bannners/chat rooms/icons.
It is really starting to bug me and I need to know if there is a place
that I can download this 'Java Applet'.
I have AOL version 5.0, if that is a help. I have Netscape Navigator
(unsure of the version) installed on my computer, and IE aswell. I would
prefer to stay with AOL as my default browser, as it has 'favourites' etc.
of which I use and would prefer to stay with.
Help me if you know what has happened or how to solve the problem!!
Gemma

It should be part of both distributions, in the "imap" package.

ipop3d is supplied in the imap RPM package.

If the image is an ISO filesystem image (filename extension: .ISO or
.CDR usually) then it's very simple:
cdrecord -v dev=/dev/sgX speed=Y filename.ISO
Replace X with the number of the CD-R(W) device you have and Y with the
speed of the drive (usually 1, 2, or 4). Consult the CD-Writing-HOWTO
at http://linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CD-Writing-HOWTO.html for more information
on how to write CDs under Linux.

I use Powerware model 3115. Comes with a cable and software that is
Linux-compatible. The 300VA model seems to have enough power to
keep a box running for at least 10 minutes (*without* the monitor
on the protected circuit). I've installed three so far.

Was the RS/6000 version ever released? I've seen *software* for OS/2 on PowerPC, but
I've never seen

Does anybody know, how to strip absoltute pathname to shared libraries

In the Makefiles all private shared libraries are specified with the =

Subject: Sorry - smudgy display under X problem..
Date: 24 Jul 2000 15:06:07 GMT
Sorry for the cross posting but this problem has become urgent - I have
been trying to solve it for about 2 weeks now and it stops me from moving
on to enjoying Linux..
I have an S3 Virge DX/GX PCI video adapter with 2Mb video ram. I am using
RH 6.2:
here goes:
1) Under X whenever anything changes on the screen - it leaves a smudge of
horizontal lines, rather like a batik pattern. If I move a window, it
doesn't move, but is smudged or smeared leaving everything unreadable.
Until something is moved, opened or closed, the display looks perfect,
except for a vertical line in the right half of the screen.
2) If I disable my adapter in XF86Config and use the generic adapter I have
no problems except that the display is, as you know, unusable because the
resolution is too low and the screen can't contain everything.
3) My monitor is apparently quite rare - an Unisys SVG-201-COL. I
discovered the H+V Syncs by checking my W95 setup (31-38.0, 60-87
respectively - if anyone needs this info) but I don't know the video
bandwidth..
4) I am sure it is something quite simple I have forgotten to do in
XF86Config.. something to do with the S3 adapter..
Can anyone Help? I've even started considering getting rid of Linux since I
can't do a simple thing like getting a decent display!
Connecting upto the Internet was easy in comparison..
Thanks for your help :)

Please post a source for this crazy notion that APC's UPSs cut your
voltage by 25% when on battery.
I use APC UPSs at home. During full power outages, I can assure you
that I'm not getting reduced voltages when on battery. If I was, the
monitor's picture would get smaller and go out of focus. It doesn't.
I've had power go out while playing games on the computer - the cutover
was so fast that there was absolutely no noticeable effect on the
computer, monitor or any attached peripherals.

I think that a version of OS/2 for the PowerPC was under development but
was never released -- because interest in the PowerPC seemed to
dissipate.
I know nothing about an RS/6000 version.

We ordered about 25 of the mid-range tripplites (comparable to an apc
smart-ups 2200). About half of them fell over at the first real power
outage. The apc's, OTOH, have worked flawlessly with only a few dead
batteries for pushing 5 years now.

Huh!?
./configure can be run on any user (if you have write permission in your
current directory). Since configure is generating error messages, it is
being found in the path. Generally you unpack your sources in a directory
that is not in your path (because it will never contain any executable you
will want to run) and type "./configure" to set it up for your system's
specifics. It looks to me like Daniel got this far.
The problem is what it is saying: you are probably missing your "X
includes". These are a bunch of declarations of X routines and need to be on
your system if you plan on building anything that will run with X windows.
They are usually installed separately so that only people who need them
have to install them.
You should be able to get them from wherever you got your linux from, or
here (an XFree86 mirror):
ftp://ftp.freesoftware.com/pub/XFree86/3.3.6/binaries/Linux-ix86-glibc21/Xprog.tgz
Since your version of X on your linux distribution may differ, you should try
to find the X headers where you got linux.
Hope this helps,
Chris

Typically the format is:

On some of my machines I get
#2 SMP Date Time
Can anyone tell me what the number is bofore SMP?
