Hello,
I contacted my isp about this problem and they said it was a known problem
but they couldn't do anything about it (?!?) and a lot of people had the
same problem.
I haven't tried your option yet although i tried *many* different options in
/etc/ppp I am going to try it later(i temporarely reconfigured it for a
different account.

You might try booting from the disk wich came by your distribution, and
switch to a virtual console once the installation screen comes up (try
alt-f1 - alt-f6 for that)
at the prompt mount your hard drive with a command like this: mount -t ext2
/dev/hda[1-4] /mnt
mount your cdrom and re-install the file you've deleted (I think you deleted
the actual file and not just the link, correct me if i'm wrong; then you
only have to do something like: ln -s fname fname)

Maybe you could try to fiddle with the mixer settings; the recorded sound
might be recorded at nearly 0 level.

Sorry, i was sleeping at the first message, i didn't see the follow ups...
The reason the sound levels are different might be that the windows driver
pre-amps the mic. input by +/- 20dB. Under Linux nothing like that is being
done.

Does anyone know of the above?
Thanks.

And then some =). Some just have better defaults. RH is reputed to have
sadly loose defaults. So is Solaris I hear. Don't take this as pro-mdk
though, I've never used it.

Almost everyone does. It seems to be best to just let it go and watch -
you can tell a hacker by the point that he knows what a hacker is =).
Ok, not neccessarily but like that.

Subject: error loading shared libraries
Date: Sun, 17 Sep 2000 12:39:34 +0200
I installed the Ingres database on Suse 6.4, but when I tried to use the SQL
tool (sql or isql) I get the following error msg:
itm: error in loading shared libraries: libframe.1.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
when I do:
ldd libframe.1.so
I get:
libcompat.1.so => not found
libq.1.so => not found
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2
Although there are a few "not found" they do actually exist in the same
directory as libframe.1.so which is ( in my case):
/opt/tngfw/ingres/install/ingres/lib
My LD_LIBRARY env. var does contain this path (so I would expect the libs
can be found.
Does anyone have any idea why the librariy libframe.1.so could not be
loaded.
Bye,
Dick Dijk

You might be able to get Dreamweaver itself to run using WINE, I've had
some success with Flash.
Or you could use <http://www.webmiffinlite.com>
