If the routes are correct;
One possable cause could be a mismatch in MTU between machines causing
fragmentation of packets, make sure the MTU is the same on both machines.
Default is normaly MTU=1500 on linux machines.

On another note, your mail editor does not line wrap, your message was on one
line and was more than 200 chars long.
