Your options seem awfully black/white. The way I see it, the issue with
GPL compliance is not that we first need Allwinner to clean up his act
(option 2), but just to acknowledge that this is a problem that needs
fixing and that they start fixing it at the same time as they start
helping on the mainlining effort. Some convincing argument that it's
going to get better (rather than getting worse, as it has been until
now) is basically what is being asked.
