Thanks all!

Since I had removed M$ from that machine I could not go back to look
at the resources I had previously configured that tape.  I knew that
it had been very easy to do.  The problem was the address,  I was
using 0x370 but it was working with 0x3f0.  

So I will be making a backup tonight and further test the drive but
my expectation are that everything is fine as I was using
ftape-3.04d previously on this machine without any problems
