Hi -
the last two weeks my postings didn't get to the list either - anyway.

tell us, please, which kernel you have and which kind of drive.
The parport module is only needed under kernel 2.1.x, 2.2.x, not under
2.0.x. So you have to change at least this part of the insert script.
But for the first time struggling with your drive I recommend
loading the modules manually instead of using the insert script.
You need three of them, for example
modprobe ftape ft_fdc_driver=bpck-fdc,none,none,none
modprobe zftape
modprobe bpck-fdc ft_fdc_parport=0
but these are the right commands ONLY for external drives using the
bpck-protocol like iomega-ditto max. If you have a different drive
replace bpck-fdc with trakker or with ftape-internal

ah, is this an internal or an external one?
internal would force you to use ftape-internal instead of
the bpck-fdc mentioned above.
And there are a couple of different options for ftape-internal, but
this can be taken from the manual. I myself don't know anything about
internal drives.
Bye, Juergen.
