I too am very close but I cannot get it to work. My problem sounds like it
has something to do with the fact that I have a Zip drive on the parallel
port which behaves like it is a SCSI device.

Any way if anyone can help. Here is the output of /var/log/messages

The last message seem to suggest that there is a problem with getting
control of the parallel port. Any ideas?
