Not sure how up to date that page is but I believe what it says. I hacked
the code about to get the sane backend to see the scanner, but all the
commands I sent to it came back funky. I tried the get status
commands from the 1250 and from the plustek but neither worked.

Neither do I. Once I hacked the Epson code in sane "scanimage -L" did show
the scanner as supported, but I could not get a resonable response out of
it.

I have been told by many people that Epsons do indeed work out the box,
but it would appear that I picked one that had not read the sane
homepage :)

Well you never know. If somebody can show me where I went wrong I will get
another 1260, but until they do that particular model is off my buy list.
