Have a look at this: http://www.khk.net/sane/ Not sure how up to date that page is but I believe what it says. I hacked the code about to get the sane backend to see the scanner, but all the commands I sent to it came back funky. I tried the get status commands from the 1250 and from the plustek but neither worked. > The plustek backend does support it. I double-checked the id and it is > in the code. I have no idea why "scanimage -L" didn't show it. Neither do I. Once I hacked the Epson code in sane "scanimage -L" did show the scanner as supported, but I could not get a resonable response out of it. > That's your choice. I have been told by many people that Epsons do indeed work out the box, but it would appear that I picked one that had not read the sane homepage :) > I don't really > know why it didn't work for you and now I guess we'll never find out :-) Well you never know. If somebody can show me where I went wrong I will get another 1260, but until they do that particular model is off my buy list.
