They indicate that either the drive isn't working according to spec or else the UHCI controller is out-of-spec. Hard to say which, but it doesn't much matter... I'll try to get hold of the changes to the EHCI driver introduced in the -mm release. Or Eero, since you already have both the vanilla -rc4 and -mm kernels, you could find the differences yourself. The files of interest are driver/usb/host/ehci*.[ch] -- and if you feel like experimenting you can simply take the -mm versions of the those files, put them into the -rc4 source directory, and see what happens when you build and run them!
