I've done low-cost. Now I want something I can do by mail order without
rewiring the house when I add a new device.

This is where the fun starts. I'll be trying things out before I commit
to a large order. But I'll be using 2-way systems, so I should be able
to spot when things are and aren't off etc. and retry.
