Here's the KDE Internationalization project, counterpart of the GNOME
Translation Project:

The first of those links includes contact info. Although the module is
marked "inactive", it looks like the maintainer is still involved and
hoping for help.

As you say above, the existing KDE work might be a starting point.

But "Bookmarks" is "Tohu-pukapuka", according to the file I just grabbed
