Agreed, but I don't think that's going to be hard at all. I have the
keys working nicely on my box :)

Now, I need to do some research (as in, have I done this "correctly" - I
really don't know just yet), but I don't see anything holding back Maori
language support on GNU/Linux, except that few people really know it's
possible.
