I am looking at RH 8.0 at the moment...Bad choice, here's part of an email Redhat has sent me.
Because the server is internet based, I need to be able to update the system from time to time, with teh security fixes, I install a whole OS everytime is just too much work..
"As previously communicated, Red Hat will discontinue maintenance and
errata support for Red Hat Linux 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 8.0 as of December 31, 2003. Red Hat will discontinue maintenance and errata support for Red Hat Linux 9 as of April 30, 2004. Red Hat does not plan to release another product in the Red Hat Linux line."
Their suggested replacement options were Fedora and Redhat Enterprise Linux. Which can be compared at http://www.redhat.com/software/rhelorfedora/
