Nice hustle, Don. If your laptop's mic socket is broken it doesn't matter. Just don't plug a mic in and use the mic built in to the laptop. As long as you are wearing earphones you won't get audio feedback and all will be well. You are right- the DualPhone is not supported in Linux. I have been using Skype on Windows and Linux for a while now, but I am looking into Gizmo as an alternative. Gizmo uses the open SIP standard, and does not use resources on your PC like Skype does. I built a chat-cord (detailed on www.grynx.com - seems to be down just now) but I got a lot of echo. It was cool to be using a regular cordless phone to talk with Skype though. I am now waiting for a DECT box that I can plug into my PC and phone line and connect to from my DECT handset. Have fun! Andy -- Now playing: Pink - Missundaztood
