It's probably best to use the distribution with which your helper is most 
familiar. There are list members who have skills for all the 3 you 
mention.

Be prepared to collect the CD from whoever.

That's the custom, except that the CLUG itself still has a number of 
factory copies of Ubuntu and KUbuntu disks to give away.

It does not matter. Same has what you are given.

It all depends if there is sufficient space between that small immovable 
block and the end of the drive to fit in all the Linux partitions.
