Glad that everything is working now, but... I don't think we've actually
found the root cause of the problem.
What did you do... run that sudo command line, or follow some instructions
from the mepislovers.org link?
That sudo command line can't possibly have changed the /etc/resolv.conf file
unless you happened to be logged in as root already. Were you?
It seems that others in this thread had already established that your DNS
resolution was working fine, so I can't really see how making changes in
this area would make any difference anyway...
