I heard that we were used as lab rats to see how well a fibre Cable
network would work out economically in this part of the world, before
deploying similar in Aust. My informant told me that they were very
disappointed that Cable-TV didn't take off as they had hoped, but were
absolutely amazed that the Internet connections are as popular as they
are.
