GIS and GPS? I suspect, running on top of Windows and in a virtual machine, a mere 516MB isn't going to cut it. Get at least 1GB - GIS is in that specialized Graphics/CAD region where the more memory you have, the happier you will be. Just my - illegal now in NZ currency - 0.02c worth!
