yes it has a sleep mode and it does have a wake on LAN.option I have
both set right now and the computer never seems to go to sleep. On
the power light it has a sign that when it goes into sleep mode it
will flash but it never flashes I hooked a monitor up and it pops up
a thing saying going to sleep and about 2 minutes later it lights
back up into windows so for some reason it keeps waking up if I
switch to lynux would it sleep better. sorry for my spelling and
punctuation errors I have brain injury from being in a helicopter
crash fighting wild and fires. so that is one problem of a brain
injury. OK is there a sight I can go to say which version of linux I
should use I have a free CD for ubonto and I also have a C.D. that is
an old version of lynux that says linux operating system 6.5 I found
in a second hand store can I get a newer version or would that be
better for an older computer. and is there a place I can go to that
will talk about setting up a network using linux and having machines
connecting that run win XP and win 98. what all software will I need.
the printers i will be using is a laserjet 6l for black and white
hooking in using parallel port and a hp desk jet 952c inkjet which
can hook in either with parallel port or usb I only use it for
printing color. Right now the inkjet is unhooked because if i turn
it off then just turn it on some reason the printserver computer wont
tell it is on or something if i shut it down and turn it back on it
will use the inkjet but just leaving it running and Turing the inkjet
on or off doesn't work,
