Well, without knowing exactly which version of which operating system
you are using, I can't make any concrete suggestions, and if you are
using an OS that I am not familiar with, I will not be able to make any
recommendations, either, but someone else familiar with your OS might.

Yeah, I am familiar with your problem... it is called aphasia. I also
have a brain injury from a stroke I had in 1994, and reading writing,
spelling and numbers are all affected, but over the years, I learned
some workarounds, like using a good spell-checker and a grammar-checker,
and a calculator for handling numbers.

It still takes me about five times longer to write something, than it
did before the stroke, but the spell-checker really helps out a lot...
you might want to try it.

I am running Windows 2000 on two of my computers (Graphics Workstation
and print/fileserver, Linux on my Desktop machine, OpenBSD on my
web/mail servers, and FreeBSD on a second desktop and practice machine.

All of my machines can talk to each other one way or another. Right now,
how do you connect to the Internet... with a phone connection, or with a
DSL connection?

Right now, do you have any of your machines networked with each other,
with ethernet cables and network interface cards?

Take one thing at a time, starting with a clear description of the
current state of your computers, and how they are presently connected to
each other.
