that sounds like the way to get things I know ebay used to be good companies
and people who had spare stuff laying around wanting to sell it but now it is
just companies built to sell n ebay and seems like prices have gone up and you
don't hardly have people selling older stuff that they owned eventually I
would like to build a setup like you have start small then grow has I said I do
allot of video stuff I am an ex meth and other drug addict who after being set
free from that stuff by god has gone into a mission of helping others I talk in
prisons and jails and also to kids before they get involved. I also do a lot of
desktop publishing for bible studies ect. I lucked out on the laserprinter it
was in a second hand store here run by one of the churches they only wanted 10
bucks for it and that included a parietal full cartage. the only problem was it
had the problems that are known for the 6ls ie unless the paper try is totally
full it would grab multiple sheets but had a guy who works on them send me the
fix hp put out a little pad on the end of a piece of cardboard and now works
perfectly is it easy to get print drivers for linux

Actually, the setup cost me very little in cash.

I do some building and repairing for a short list of computing clients,
and am often told to 'just get rid of' the computer that is being
replaced by the computer I built, and am installing.

I also pick up a lot of spare parts at garage sales, and on
CraigsList... local Chicago people selling good stuff for cheap.

The current evolution of the LAN is about number 4, with a lot of
improvements being made along the way.

The one thing I did buy new and shiny is that WaveMaster case, built by
Cooler Master... it was just a beautiful thing, that I had to have.<g>
