This move of M$ will no way affect Java.
As no one is using client side java applets..
as it is replaced by Flash.(Are you using Java applets
any more these days??)
Java's power is now on the serverside. Sun moves
heavily on serverside Java.
The market share of M$ on server side is arround 15%
only, majority of the maket remains in the UNIX
family.
90% of the serverside solutions are Java based.
(Eg: BEA, IBM, Oracle, Sybase, etc)
So, the cilent side support is no more a big issue for
Java...
(Although, sun is working on transparent plug-in
insatller with light weight JVM to kick M$ move)
Sorry M$ on your .NOT, you have to play with only 15%
of server side market.
(Hey Mill Vates, why don't you concentrate to keep
your client market(90%) with you as the Penguin is
eating it fast, instead of fighting against the big
server boys).
