Well, let's not assume Macromedia just pulled the price out of the air either. I have to assume they did some research, talked to the prospective market they were trying to hit, weighed all that against the cost of developing the product, etc. Is it the right number? MM seems to think so based on the due diligence that I'm sure they went through. Whether or not it will succeed in the long run is a completely different question. Every software company has failed products in their history and I have to believe that Macromedia is well aware of Generator and Spectra and that didn't go undiscussed in their pricing decisions.
Obviously the market will dictate whether or not Flex is successful in the long term and if the pricepoint is a correct one based on who MM is targeting and what they and their Flex customers (current and prospective) are trying to accomplish with the product. I just think assuming they made the decision in a vacuum isn't a fair assumption. Matt On Thu, 10 Mar 2005 11:57:29 -0600, Black, Stephen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Well then don't believe them.
