I did something very similar to this--they were asking for
functionality in applications that would be extremely difficult and/or
impossible to provide with DHTML, so I built up a couple of demos in
Flex and said, "What do you think about this?"  They were so into it
that the price tag only phased them a little bit.

Now if only they'll quit dumping annoying grunt work on my plate and
let me actually USE Flex ... ;-)
