Are they different MS? or just Zeon tech/MS mods.?

I did complete and paint a 300 Yens GM, for the hack of it if you
will. And the oh-so-unpopular Soul of Chukokin GM. But yeah I am
talking about 3 HGUC GMs, actually I got 5 back then but I sold 2
after I got married. I also have two green Zaku still in the box. I
took a Zaku-break after Char's and Garma's Zaku and I still haven't
got back to it.
What can I say, I love grunts and I love 0079. The 0080 and 0083
versions are definitely cooler designs, but... I still love the
pathetic little Red 'n' Puke.
the difference between Dom and Rick Dom
was artifacially created to market a MG variant anyway. I hardly care
if it's one or the other.
I noticed that you mentioned something similar before, but it's not
true. Even back in the old magazine in Hong Kong (not sure in the TVB-
dubbed series) there was a difference between "Dai Mor" and "Gar Dai
Mor". And you can easily see the extra thrusters on Rick Dom in the
3rd 0079 movies too.
REALLY? So I was wrong to say that. Come to think of it, I never sat
down and watch 0079 movies for a second time, so I must have missed a
lot of movies-specific details. I knew about the Dom/Rick Dom name
distinction in all early references and I remember the technobabble
about the thrusters of the two different types of MS, but I don't
remember ever seeing the thrusters on screen or lineart of either Dom
or Rick Dom.
I do remember that in the old model series, there was only a Rick Dom
model at 1/144 (I believe the same can be said for 1/100 and 1/60) but
not a seperate Dom kit. Considering there was an mini-arc about three
named villians behind Dom but nothing comparable for Rick Dom, it's
kind of odd to leave out Dom completely. Remember back then
everything and the kitchensink were released in multiple scale models.
So Dom being left out kinda yelled to me that Dom and Rick Dom's
differences are only in name and the technobabbles.
Now you can understand my ignorance.
